Hymenoplasty
Hymen reconstruction, performed confidentially and without asking you to explain why.
Women choose hymenoplasty for cultural, religious or personal reasons. I do not require you to justify which, and the consultation is confidential from the first call through to the last follow-up.
What the hymen is
A thin membrane surrounding the vaginal opening, sitting about half an inch inside it. It is present from birth and normally has one or more small openings. It can be damaged by sexual activity, by childbirth, or by physical activities such as cycling or riding — and some women have a naturally thin or elastic hymen that tears easily. The anatomy carries far less meaning than the weight placed on it.
The procedure
Hymenoplasty repairs or reconstructs the membrane using dissolvable sutures. It is performed under local anaesthetic as a day case, so you go home the same day. Recovery is short, most women resume normal activities within a few days, and there is no visible scarring.
On discretion
If it helps, appointments can be arranged so that the reason for your visit is not apparent to anyone accompanying you, and correspondence can be handled in whatever way you prefer. Ask at the time of booking.
